Career: An individual's journey

Desire to do something can lead your way to the safe and profitable future. Parents will keep telling you to pursue engineering and medicine because they think these are the only fields which can lead your future towards the right direction. One of my friends has the same story. He is sharp minded and very much of “It is my Life” types. But at the stage when he has to decide. He got confused when he discovered the rising demands of the corporate ladder.

Not only my friend, every single student faced this situation as there are a lot of professional options, a lot of consultants and excessive on stake.

Also one of the important aspects nowadays to pursue what one actually wants,  is “Money”. The one who is not financially strong has to go with the job oriented courses, diplomas or ITI. Many of them attempt PUC/+2, which will confirm entry into degree course which will later define their career.

 Don’t get confused

Take a deep breathe and just read once about all the +2 courses so that you will be able to get a clear vision on what, how and which career option is best for +2 courses.

Science, Commerce & Arts:

Science: Options in science are
1.       PCMB
·         P = Physics
·         C = Chemistry
·         M = Math
·         B = Biology
2.       PCM + Electronics
3.       PCM + Computers
4.       Statics (Selected colleges offer this as 4th subject)
Some girl colleges also offer PCB + Home science which are good options for those who don’t want to pursue math.

Those who pursue science has a great advantage of switching to commerce and arts if science later on will not prove out to be a good option for them. Science is usually taken by the students who are interested in technology and new inventions.

Commerce: Commerce is best choice for those students who think science as a difficult subject and don’t like to study too much.

Also commerce is best for those who are interested in finance and want to get to know more about the business senses and figures. Some pursue commerce when they see their career in some other curricular activities instead of Engineering and Doctors so that they can get an extra time to get trained in their respective interests.

Arts :  Previously, it was considered as a poor cousin of two subjects, but nowadays, this subject became the choice of many bright students who are interested in languages and social science. Many options are available in arts such as Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Geography, Hindi, Sanskrit, History and many more.
Admission got tougher day by day if you wish to get admitted at a reputed institute as the cutoff percentages in them go beyond 90% to qualify for admission.  However, these are the only requirements of the university having wide exposure. Many junior colleges open which has a better management and Infrastructure but don’t demand too much.

Many students who had done CBSE, IGSCE or IG in their schools thinks that is it worth to take admissions in these top listed colleges, as they wants to go far beyond in their career and wants to match the technological advancement of the world.

But let me get you to the fact that selecting a college is the matter of not just what we desires to do, in fact, it is the matter of the circumstances and also many other facts such that the institute must not be too far from student residence so the traveling time should get manage for the coaching and other competitive exams.

We have lots more to go about the various other options which will be best fitted for you.  We will get back to that in my other article. Please do like and share my article if you find this helpful and also do comment if any suggestions.
